Suitable for those with previous yoga experience or beginners who are reasonably fit and body-aware. Mindful Yoga

Sound Yoga

Sound yoga is a gentle but powerful way to help reduce physical, emotional and mental stress and tension and to connect to your own natural rhythm. Sound yoga is a combination of mindful yoga with sound, using tibetan singing bowls, sound massage, sound relaxation, and sound meditation. Using singing bowls during yoga, we experience an amazing effect. The healing sound vibration travels deep into our muscles, fascia and organs, massaging them while we are holding the pose. The heart rhythm is calmed, we relax deeply and feel inner joy. We will practice asanas, meditation, relaxation, breath and massage with the support of sound. Perfect for beginne

Gentle yoga combined with the healing power of singing bowl vibrations leads to profound relaxation in this amazing workshop.  Deep relaxation allows the body and brain to heal so whatever is going on for you, rest assured you will feel better after this workshop.  The use of Tibetan singing bowls placed on or near your body during relaxation poses creates healing sound vibrations.  A perfect antidote to stress, this gentle practice is excellent for those who wish to slow down, reduce stress or simply improve well-being.

Restorative Yoga with Deep Relaxation

Date TBC, 14.30 – 16.30pm, €25

A perfect antidote to stress, this gentle practice combines mindful movement, restorative yoga and deep relaxation.  Restorative yoga uses props in the form of blankets, bolsters and blocks to support the body during stretches.  This frees the muscles to completely relax allowing for deep release.  Slow yoga triggers the relaxation response, helping the nervous system to recover from continuous daily stress.  Many postures are practised from lying down with some all fours, seated an prone poses.  The skill of mindfulness will be developed by paying careful attention to the breath and to the sensations experienced.  This workshop is an excellent practice for those suffering with stress or tiredness, promoting deep relaxation and well-being in body and mind.

Family Yoga

Sound Nourishment: Rebalance, Refresh, Reconnect

Sound can nourish our body, mind and soul, restoring well-being, health and balance. With the harmonising sounds and vibrations of tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs and drums you can relax completely, unwind and let the sound take you to a deeper place. Sound is the vessel and it allows you to explore and identify what a meditative state is and how it feels. The experience begins with loosening up our bodies, breathing exercises to help us become present and relaxed, followed by an interactive sound cleanse and an exploration of the instruments. Then we are ready to relax onto our mats to let the sounds nourish us and bring about the balancing of our whole system. Bring an open ear and an open mind, we provide blankets and mats 🙂

Kids Yoga

Yoga strengthens children in mind and body. At Om Yoga, Tanja Thomas leads interactive and fun classes for children between the ages of 5 and 11. Yoga offers all children the opportunity to take time out from mounting stresses in their daily life. Special classes are available for children with additional challenges, such as Dyspraxia and Autism.
