Restorative Yoga promotes deep relaxation, ease and well-being in the body. The practice involves gentle stretching in a variety of traditional yoga postures. Many of these postures are practised from lying down, supported by props such as bolsters, blocks and cushions. This frees muscles to completely relax so that the body experiences comfort, release and opening. The skill of mindfulness will be developed by paying careful attention to the breath and to the sensations experienced. Soothing to the nervous system, this practice is perfect if you need to de-stress or unwind. Also an excellent practice for those suffering from anxiety or insomnia.
